Travel to Ecuador #2

Hello my fellow chocolate lovers,

I am Takanori Chiwata, the chocolate engineer of COCONAMA CHOCOLATE.

Starting from today, I would like to share about the Ecuador trip I had the chance to go the other day. I would like to make these posts like my travel journal, so excuse my broken English!

Now, I’ve decided where to head. My destination is Quito, Ecuador. I also know which cacao farm to visit, and needless to say, my reason to visit them.

Can we really stock a high and stable quality cacao beans on a regular basis?

Would they be willing to contract with a small business like ours?

When it comes to these sorts of things, just emailing them will take us nowhere. We will actually have to talk to the farmers in person. So, off we go to Ecuador for a face-to-face meeting.

On top of that, cacao beans of Ecuador has a distinct flavour and scent from cacao beans harvested in other countries. To discover the secret behind its uniqueness is another goal for this trip.

Well, we are going all the way to Ecuador, I do want more from it. So, I’ve decided to make a To do list of the things that I can only experience in Ecuador.

I’ve obviously listed some photos I want to take, but a mere photo may be a little boring.

Right! We’ve got something called VR!

Recently, we’ve been holding our workshop quite frequently. Thanks to all of you, it is now a popular event that immediately gets packed.

At our workshop, we explain about cacao’s origin using photos and videos, but I want our attendees to get more real feelings of what it’s like.

Then wouldn’t a use of photos and videos with a full 360° view excite them more?

So, I bought this, what has been catching my eyes for quite a while now.

Ricoh Theta V!

I’ve read a number of reviews and decided to stick with the Japanese brand.

Now that I bought it, this is where all the trouble begins…

Editing and all the other stuff didn’t seem impossible to do… All I had to do (more like I had no choice) was to teach myself how to actually use this. All the appreciation to our almighty tutor Google and Youtube, I’ve managed to learn the basic edits just before I leave.

It’s almost as if I can see everyone excited with those crazy goggles on at our workshop. I just can’t wait for it!

After organizing other things to do in Ecuador and things to prepare before I leave on excel, I was all set.

Off I go!

Let’s call it a day now. I am hoping to see you all on our next post.

With hopes that you will be able to encounter the perfect chocolate just for you,
